Tulip Sensual Touch
Botanical Name: Tulipa
Large double flowers in shades of pink and apricot. Delicate fringed petals add to the romantic appeal of this gorgeous variety. Excellent as a cut flower as well as for containers and mass plantings. A normal tulip has six petals while a double tulip has at least twice that amount!
Tulips are originally from Turkey and Iran and found their second home in Holland during the last years of the 16th century. Grow them in a well prepared, good draining soil or, if growing in pots, choose a good quality potting mix. Bulbs can be lifted and stored in a cool place for replanting next season. Best treated as an annual in warmer climates.
How To Grow | Plant: 10-15cm deep 10cm apart in full sun or part shade. Grow them in a well prepared, good draining soil or, if growing in pots, choose a good quality potting mix. In our climate, tulips are best treated as annuals although in cooler areas they can be lifted and stored in a cool place for replanting next season. TIP: To promote stronger flowers, chill the bulbs in the refrigerator for 6 weeks prior to planting. |
