Tulip American Dream
An attractive variety with unique open blooms. Spectacular both in the garden and as a cut flower. American Dream flowers are richly coloured in shades of gold and red with eye-catching dark centres.
Tulips are originally from Turkey and Iran and found their second home in Holland during the last years of the 16th century. Grow them in a well prepared, good draining soil or, if growing in pots, choose a good quality potting mix. Bulbs can be lifted and stored in a cool place for replanting next season. Best treated as an annual in warmer climates.
How To Grow
Plant: 10-15cm deep 10cm apart in full sun or part shade. Grow them in a well prepared, good draining soil or, if growing in pots, choose a good quality potting mix. In our climate, tulips are best treated as annuals although in cooler areas they can be lifted and stored in a cool place for replanting next season.
TIP: To promote stronger flowers, chill the bulbs in the refrigerator for 6 weeks prior to planting.
