Bunching Ishikura Spring Onion Seeds

Frequently Bought Together
Product Description
Add a fresh twist to your garden with Ishikura spring onion. This onion seed variety doesn’t form vegetable bulbs but grows long, white stems that are crisp, flavourful, and entirely edible—so produce very little waste.
Quick to mature and highly productive, Ishikura spring onions can be picked early for a more delicate flavour or left to grow larger without losing their signature taste. These heirloom seeds are well-suited to sunny positions with well-dug, manured soil and can thrive in traditional garden beds, raised planters, or even large pots, making them a great option for gardens of all sizes.
For a summer full of fresh flavours, pair these onions with cucumber seeds for cool, refreshing salads and radish seeds to add a crunchy, colourful twist to your meals. Or, explore the rest of Mr Fothergill’s vegetable seeds for more tasty combinations!

Contact UsHow To Grow
Sow Ishikura spring onion seeds thinly at a depth of 6mm (1/2in) with plants spaced 5cm (6in) apart. Choose a sunny position with well-dug, fertile soil, and water the bed before sowing. Gently firm the soil after sowing to ensure good seed-to-soil contact. Keep the soil moist, especially during dry spells, and remove any weeds to minimise competition for nutrients. Thinning the seedlings is unnecessary, as this variety grows upright without crowding.
For a continuous supply of fresh spring onions, sow seeds every three weeks throughout the growing season. Harvest Ishikura spring onions when they reach your preferred size, picking them as needed.
