Emilie F1 Cucumber Seeds
RHS Emilie F1 cucumber seeds are an exceptional hybrid variety that produces almost entirely female flowers. An excellent home garden cucumber, these RHS seeds are reliable and abundant croppers. The vines are quite vigorous and have good disease resistance.
These particular cucumber seeds are parthenocarpic, which means they develop fruit without the need for fertilisation, resulting in sterile fruit with minimal seeds. The delicious mid-sized, smooth-skinned cucumbers have a pleasantly uniform dark green colour and make a tasty addition to salads and sandwiches.

How To Grow
Sow Emilie F1 cucumber seeds 12mm (½ in) deep. Cover with a fine layer of compost and firm gently. Keep soil moist and warm. Seedlings will appear in 6-10 days.
Thin to the strongest seedlings, allowing 40-50cm (16-20 in) between plants. Train up wires to ensure fruits grow straight, and remove growing point at roof level. Occasionally, male flowers (those without a swelling behind the flower) may form, especially if plants become stressed. These should be removed as pollinated female flowers may produce bitter fruits.

Important Note
These seeds are treated with a fungicide (Thiram or Apron XL), do not eat the seeds or feed them to animals. Fungicide treatment is an AQIS requirement for certain varieties of seeds. It does not affect your crops or harm insects such as bees.
