Gourd Bitter Melon
A warm climate vine that originates from South India and is widely used in many Asian cuisines. This Indian style Gourd is quite narrow and short with pointed ends, with cucumber-like crunchy flesh but bitter taste and edible skin with jagged ridges.
How To Grow
Direct where they are to grow or in seed trays of seed raising mixture. Good in pots. Sow seeds 6mm deep into damp soil, firm down gently and keep moist. Seedlings emerge in 10-14 days.

Important Note
These seeds may be treated with a fungicide (Thiram or Apron XL), do not eat the seeds or feed them to animals.
Fungicide treatment is an AQIS requirement for certain varieties of seeds. It does not affect your crops or harm insects such as bees.
If your packet has been treated it will be well marked with a warning and the seeds will be dyed a distinct colour.

Bitterness can be tamed by washing the fruit well, removing the seeds, marinating in salt for at least ½ hour before cooking, squeezing the juice out or boiling cut pieces in a water & lemon solution.Our Guarantee
