Alstroemeria Regina Plant
These beautiful orchid-like flowers are carried in clusters on top of the stems. Once settled they will flower profusely. The more you pick, by simply pulling the stem out of the ground, the more flowers you will have. Ideal cut flower and suitable for pots or in the garden.
Height: 60-70cm.
How To Grow
Plant
• Prepare soil to be weed-free, well-draining and rich in organic matter.
• Once the danger of frost has passed, plant the tubers 15cm deep with the shoots facing up just below the soil surface. Plant 30cm apart in full sun.
• Keep soil lightly moist while you wait for shoots to appear.
Grow
• Mulching in warm weather can help keep tubers moist and cool.
• For the best floral display, top dress clumps with fertiliser in Spring.
• Grows 60-70cm tall.
Care
• Pull flower stems from the ground to use as cut flowers or deadhead finished flowers.
• Cut plants back when foilage yellows in Winter to 5cm from the base to encourage new growth.
• Tubers are best left in the ground.
• Crowded clumps can be lifted when dormant and split. More established clumps produce the best flowers.
