Strawberry Tioga (Crowns)
Botanical Name: Fragaria x ananassa
Vigorous growing variety with very sweet, low acid fruit. Grow in a raised bed or in pots. For best results the soil should be well prepared with organic matter and have good drainage. Surface mulching is recommended to retain moisture and limit weed growth. Strawberries are shallow rooted so require ample moisture to ensure good growth and fruit production. A liquid fertiliser should be applied throughout the growing season. Plants bear well for about three seasons before needing to be replaced.
