Postage Charges

We have a tiered postage charge system, depending on the type of products you order and your location, please see below.

Note to WA Customers! Since June 1st 2013, The Dept of Agriculture and Food in WA have significantly increased their inspection fee for any seed sent into the state. As this cost is covered by us, we have unfortunately had to increase our postage charges to WA. Due to this change, it has also meant we can only send our orders via courier which then means we can only send to street addresses, not to PO Boxes, we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Group 1 – Standard seed products

On standard seed orders, we set the postage and handling charge at $2.60 (WA $9.00) for any number of seed packets. If you would like your order delivered in a hurry we offer an express post service at the cost of $7.95 (not available to WA due to the quarantine requirements).

Group 2 – Jiffy® products, seed raisers, Kitchen Garden pots, Kitchen Seed Sprouters and gardening accessories

If your order includes any Jiffy® products, seed raisers, Kitchen Garden Pots, Kitchen Seed Sprouters or gardening accessories, we set the postage and handling charge at $8.00 (WA $12) for any number of products. This is due to the size and weight of these products.

Group 3 – Grow Pots and Mini Vegetable Gardens

If your order includes Grow Pots or Mini Vegetable Gardens, we set the postage and handling charge at $13.00 (WA $15) for any number of products. This is due to the size and added weight of these products, as they contain potting mix.

Delivery Times

We aim to deliver your order within the following timeframes from successful payment, depending on your location, although there may be a slight variation depending on the postal services in your area:

  • Eastern seaboard & SA 5-7 days
  • WA, TAS and NT 7-10 days (subject to WA Quarantine requirements*)

*With recently introduced WA Quarantine regulations, we endeavour to send orders within 7-10 days. There may be further delays as part of the inspection process. For further information, please refer to

Delivery Outside Of Australia

Currently, we do not ship outside of Australia. Please visit Mr Fothergill’s UK for international orders.

Delivery of Restricted Goods to Western Australia and Tasmania

Certain varieties cannot be sent to WA or Tasmania. These are marked in the description and we will remove these from your delivery (and not charge you) should they be ordered for delivery to these states.

Refunds & Replacements

All goods we sell must be of acceptable quality and fit for the purpose they are sold for. If your seeds do not grow for whatever reason we will happily provide you with a replacement.  For all other products, please contact our head office through our contact us web page. Please note we are not required to give refunds under any other circumstances.
