When to Plant Calla Lily Bulbs
Calla lily bulbs (or rhizomes, specifically) should be planted during the autumn and winter months in Australia. Once the soil warms, they will spring to life, producing fantastic blooms during the spring and summer.
How to Plant Calla Lily Bulbs
Your calla lilies should be planted in loose, well-drained soil. This should be in full sun or partial shade if you’re located in a warmer climate. You should also prepare your soil by adding compost and pre-planting fertiliser designed for flowering plants to ensure your plants grow to their full potential.
Plant your calla lily bulbs around 8-10cm deep and 15cm apart. As your plants grow and as the weather gets warmer, water your flowers regularly to ensure that they aren’t affected by the heat. By summer, your calla lily bulbs will produce beautiful blooms.
