How To Grow
Sow 6mm (1/4”) deep in pots or trays of seed raising mix. Transplant to 10-15cm (4-6”) pots in a warm, sunny spot after first true leaves have formed, and to final fruiting position when sturdy enough. Space plants 50cm (20”) apart each way, and support with a stake or frame. Water daily, and when the first truss has set, feed regularly with a liquid fertiliser. Pinch out the side shoots as they appear. Can also be sown direct in final position from late Spring. Seedlings emerge 7-14 days.
Mr Fothergill’s Tips: Ripening fruit will develop their richest and deepest colour and flavour when exposed to warm bright sunshine.
