How To Grow

These intructions are the same as the ones you will receive in your windowsill grow kit! So if you happen to lose them just come back here!

PREPARE
Put the Jiffy® soil pellets into a large bowl and add about 600ml of lukewarm water. After 10 minutes you will have enough soil to fill your windowsill tin. Loosen the soil with a table fork and put your new soil into the pot.

SOW
Make a small hole with the end of your finger in the soil for each seed. Sow the seeds, cover with 3-5mm of the surrounding soil and firm gently. Water lightly and place in a warm, well-lit spot in your home. First shoots will appear in 20-40 days. When the young plants are approximately 5cm tall, thin them out to leave only the 4-5 strongest plants. This allows the flowers to have plenty of space to develop. The surplus seedlings can be planted into another pot or direct into the garden.

CARE
Feed with half strength liquid fertiliser every 2 weeks to promote healthy growth. The soil should be kept moist, but not too wet. Water when soil changes colour from dark to light brown and feels dry to touch. After watering pour out any excess water from the drip tray, so the tin doesn’t sit in a pool of water.
