Tayberry
Botanical Name: Rubus fruticosus x ideaus
This cross between a raspberry and a blackberry produces large and juicy fruits with a divine sweet aromatic taste. The fruits can be up to 4cm long and taste better than either of the parent fruits!
How To Grow | While Tayberries will fruit even in relatively poor soil, providing regular feed can be beneficial for growth and harvest. Add rotted garden compost or organic fertilizer around the base of your bushes as fruits start to form. Tayberry fruit tend to grow on second-year canes. However, by the end of the first year you’ll be seeing additional canes growing up. Cover roots 50cm apart in full sun. Feed plants with a complete fertilizer as fruit is forming. |
