The ultimate viola in a full range of colours - blue, purple, yellow, white and blue-blotched white. It is wonderful when massed in the border or containers where the extremely floriferous round-shape plants thrive. It is also winter hardy and particularly beautiful in spring and autumn. Hardy perennial grown as a hardy annual.
When to plant: Autumn and Winter How to grow: Sow in a seed bed. Transplant summer sowings to the flowering position in autumn, spacing 6-9in (15-22cm) apart. Remove dead flowers to prolong season.
Seeds can also be sown in trays of seed compost. Just cover the seed, keep moist and at a temperature of 15-20C (60-68F). Thin (prick out) to further trays or pots when seedlings have developed 2-4 leaves. Harden off and plant out in October. Flowers: Spring
