Large, very meaty flavoursome fruit. This variety is named by a 1930's farmer whose bumper crop of this variety enabled him to save his farm from repossession. Indeterminate.
When to plant: Late Winter to early Summer How to grow: Sow seeds 0.25in (0.5cm) deep in pots or trays of seed compost. Maintain a temperature of at least 18C (68F). Transplant to individual pots when the plants reach 2in (5cm) high, planting into greenhouse growbags, large pots or beds. Water daily and feed with liquid fertiliser when the first truss of flowers appears. Provide support for the plants as they develop.
Seeds can be sown directly once soil warms in spring. Solid trellising should be provided prior to the plants becoming established. Harvest: Summer to late Autumn
