Wonderful for border edging and they look great in tubs and window boxes. The double flowers are sweetly scented and superb as a cut flower. A perennial best treated as an annual, flowering the same year. Prefers a sunny position.
When to plant: Year round (Spring and Autum regarded best time) How to grow: Sow thinly in seed boxes or punnets, thinning out when the seedlings have developed 2-4 leaves, spacing 2.5cm (1in) apart. When seedlings are sturdy, plant out in garden 30cm (1ft) apart. Seed can also be sown direct in flowering position 5mm (quarter-inch) deep. Remove dead flowers to prolong flowering. Flowers: Over a long period.
