- Coleus - Vibrant leaf colours and patterns. Remove flowers to keep leaves at their best (seedlings emerge 14-21 days). Sow into seed boxes all year, cover lightly with seed raising mixture, firm down and keep moist. Transplant when large enough to handle. Keep moist.
- Impatiens - Free flowering plants in a wide range of colours (seedlings emerge 14-21 days). Sow into seed boxes all year round, except in hottest or coldest times. Cover lightly with seed raising mixture, firm down and keep moist. Prick out into larger containers when seedlings have second leaf. When about 5cm (2in) high, transplant to pots, tubs or open garden. Water well, particularly in hot weather.
- Lobelia - Compact green leaves and gentian blue flowers (seedlings emerge 10-14 days). Sow in Autumn, also in Spring in cold climates, into seed boxes. Sow shallow, firm down then cover lightly with seed raising mixture. Keep moist. Transplant seedlings when quite small (2-3cm), spacing 10cm (4in) apart. Water regularly.
- Marigold - Flowers have a raised golden crest and contrasting mahogany skirt (seedlings emerge 10-21 days). Sow in Spring and early Summer, all year in warmer areas, direct where they are to grow or into seed boxes. Transplant when large enough to handle, space 20cm (10in) apart. Mulch round plants and water well in Summer. They love a sunny spot.
- Nemesia - Vivid orange flowers on neat plants (seedlings emerge 10-14 days). Sow in Autumn and also in Spring in cold climates, either direct where they are to flower or into seed boxes. Space 15cm (6in) apart. Keep well watered.
