This unique colour combination is a real dazzler. The vibrant orange petals are contrasted by royal purple wings and markings. The flowers are early and prolific on neat compact plants. Hardy perennial flowering the same year. Grows well in sun or partial shade.
When to plant: Autumn and Winter How to grow: Sow in the flowering position or in a nursery seedbed. Thin seedlings as required and in the case of summer sowings, plant out to the final position in autumn, spacing 6-9in (15-25cm) apart.
Sow in trays of seed compost and very lightly cover the seeds. Maintain at 15-20C (60-68F) until germination occurs after 15-21 days. Thin the seedlings and plant out the remainders when they have 2-4 leaves. Harden off and plant out when plants are large enough to handle. Flowers: Late Winter to late Spring
