Beautiful streaked blooms in shades of bright yellow, pink, red and cream. Also known as Four O'Clock Plant' on account of its flowers that tend to open later in the day and close in the morning. Makes an excellent border addition or cut flower.
When to plant: Autumn and Spring. How to grow: Sow seeds directly into well-prepared beds in the garden, 5mm (1/4in) deep and lightly firm in. As seedlings germinate, thin to 30cm (12in) apart. The plants may form tubers which can be lifted for storage and re-planting the following season. Flowers: Spring to Summer.
