A very useful and long lasting cut flower, it also dries to produce large brown seed pods, surrounded by delicated rods and bracts - superb for Winter decoration. A hardy annual, flowering the same year. Prefers a sunny position.
When to plant: Spring and Summer How to grow: Sow in flowering position 25cm (9in) apart. Site in a sunny position protected from strong winds. Feed with a liquid fertiliser when buds appear. Remove dead flowers to prolong flowering, or pick complete stems and dry for facinating indoor arrangements. Flowers: Summer to Autumn
