Cascading from window boxes, trailing from hanging baskets or tumbling over walls, Lobelia makes a fine display and a perfect foil for many other flowering plants.
When to plant: Autumn How to grow: Sow in trays or pots of seed compost. Press the small seeds into the surface. Keep moist and warm - 15-20C (60-68F). Germination will take 7-14 days. Thin (prick out) the seedlings when they have developed 2-4 leaves, spacing 1in (2.5cm) apart. Harden off and plant out at the end of October, spacing 4-6in (10-15cm) apart. Flowers: Spring to early Summer
