This is the lettuce to grow for Summer salads. A large crisphead variety, the seed may be sown to produce a succession of crops. Strongly recommended. Grows well on any good soil in a sunny position.
When to plant: Spring and Summer How to grow: Sow a few seeds in each clump, 6mm (quarter-inch) deep. Cover with fine layer of seed raising mix or soil, water gently. Space 30cm (1ft) apart. Thin to strongest seedlings. Feed with liquid fertliser every 10-14 days. Water often as Lettuce have shallow roots. Make successive sowings. Harvest: 8 weeks
