Karri Blue Bush

Delightful shrubs with deep green glossy leaves and deep purple, pea-like flowers with white centres. The plants are easy to grow and provide a useful backdrop to shorter plants in sun or partial shade.

We recommend the use of Wildflower Seed Starter Granules for improved germination rates and speed. These granules provide chemicals normally found in bushfire smoke that stimulate native seed germination.

When to plant: All year round except in hottest or coldest weather.
How to grow: Sow in warm areas anytime. In frost prone areas when danger of frost is over. Place seeds in a cup of hot water, leave overnight then drain and sow. It is beneficial to add Wildflower Seed Starter granules. Fill small pots with moist sandy soil and compress. Sow 2 or 3 seeds 5mm deep (¼in) in each pot. Keep moist but not wet. Cover pots with clear polythene – remove when germination commences. Place in warm shaded position to germinate fully. As soon as the seedling emerges or a tap root appears at the base of the container, plant into permanent position. Water in well and water regularly until established. Protect from slugs and snails. Prune after flowering to improve shape.
