Sugarloaf is a strongly recommended variety. It has an excellent flavour whether cooked or served cold in salads. The compact, conical heads mature over several weeks.
When to plant: Early Spring through to early Autumn How to grow: Drop seeds 15mm (half inch) deep in seedbed, tray or punnet. Keep moist. Transplant to final positions when they have developed 2-4 leaves. Allow 40-60cm (18-24in) between plants; firm in and keep well watered. Harvest: When heads are firm but quite small
